Boys and girls talked with the nuns from Chernihiv about what authentic life values are.
On April 9th, in the Youth Center in Poltava, the Spiritual retreat for the Poltava youth community, “Ukrainian Youth for Christ,” took place; it was organized by the Redemptorist nuns from Chernihiv, Sister Kateryna Molochiy and Sister Justyna Dubil.

At the beginning of the meeting, everyone had the opportunity to express their own opinion on what he or she most appreciates in a modern person. Young people talked with the nuns about which authentic life values make a human being truly human, helping a person to realize one’s own vocation in life and the sense of the wholeness of life.
Sister Kateryna Molochiy relates, “Each one of us should be aware of the fact that we are not accidental people in this world, but each of us is endowed by God with a certain purpose by being called into existence. And when a person comes to realize the purpose and sense of one’s own existence, and correlates it with one’s own life, then he or she will be able to feel completely happy.”
Within the retreat program, Poltava members of the “Ukrainian Youth for Christ” have also shared their ideas and suggestions regarding the construction of a certain model of Christian behavior in contemporary social conditions.

The Poltava Youth Center of the “Ukrainian Youth for Christ,” was established on December 7, 2014, within the Most Holy Trinity parish of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
The “Ukrainian Youth for Christ” is an organization founded by Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi in the 1930s. Nowadays the organization centers function as Christian interest clubs and can be joined regardless of one’s denominational belonging.
The “Ukrainian Youth for Christ” center in Poltava is attended both by local youth and young people coming from other parts of Ukraine, who live, work or study there. Young people want to commonly demonstrate that the Church is not only for the older generation. The spiritual mentor of the community is Fr. Maksym Krolevskyi. Except for conducting spiritual encounters, the priest also teaches Italian to young people.
